  1. OPENING AN ACCOUNT:
  2. 1. How do I open an account with A-Mark?
    Answer: Visit our Open An Account page under our HOME tab and fill out our open account form online.
     
    2. Does it cost anything to open an A-Mark account?
    Answer: No, it is currently free to open an account with us.
     
    3. What does opening an A-Mark account do for me?
    Answer: It will allow you to do trades more easily. We normally require customers to have an account with us before buying metals from us or selling metals to us. As an account holder, you may also, unless you notify us to the contrary, receive periodic special product offerings from us.
     

  3. PRICING:
  4. 1. Why does the A-Mark Web site show different prices than those quoted over the phone to me by an A-Mark representative?
    Answer: Prices quoted over the phone are the prevailing prices at that moment. The prices shown on our Web site may be a few minutes behind.
     
    2. Does A-Mark charge commission on trades?
    Answer: Yes, we charge commission on all trades done by individuals. Our commission schedule is as follows:

    A.  Over $50,000 A.  0.25% (1/4%) of the transaction value
    B.  $25,001 - $50,000 B.  0.5% (1/2%) of the transaction value
    C.  $15,001 - $25,000 C.  1.0% of the transaction value
    D.  $1,000 - $15,000 D.  2.0% of the transaction value
         (minimum $50 commission per
         transaction)
     
    3. Does A-Mark have a minimum order requirement?
    Answer: Yes, there is a minimum order of 100 ounces of gold, 5,000 ounces of silver, and 50 ounces of platinum. There is no minimum order requirement for collectible purchases.
     
    4. Does A-Mark have a product price catalog?
    Answer: No, we do not produce a product price catalog because our bullion product prices fluctuate minute-to-minute depending on our current spot prices. To see updated product prices, visit our PRICES tab. Note these prices are for indication only. For the most current product price quotes, please contact us at (310) 587-1436.
     

  5. PAYMENTS:
  6. 1. What forms of payment does A-Mark accept?
    Answer: We accept good funds; bank wire, cashiers or certified check, and cleared company or personal check are considered good funds.
     
    2. Where do I get bank wire information?
    Answer: Please call 310 587-1443 for wire instructions.
     

  7. SHIPPING, HANDLING, and INSURANCE:
  8. 1. What are the shipping, handling, and insurance charges?
    Answer: Our shipping/handling/insurance charges are as follows:

    $25 handling plus:
    A.  Gold:  $1 per ounce
    B.  Silver:  $0.25 per ounce
    C.  Platinum:  $1.25 per ounce
     
    2. How are metals shipped?
    Answer: Metals are shipped by registered, insured mail through the U.S. Postal Service.
     
    3. Who is responsible for metals lost or damaged in transit?
    Answer: When you ship metals to us, you are responsible for metals lost or damaged in transit. If you would like your shipment to us to be insured, it is your responsibility to make your own arrangements. When we ship to you, if metals are lost or damaged in transit, it is your responsibility to pursue any claim with the third party carrier. You will have recourse to the third party carrier only and not to A-Mark.
     
    4. When will I receive my order?
    Answer: We usually ship your order the business day after we receive your funds. Depending on your local post office, it usually takes 3-7 Post Office business days from the time we ship your order until you receive your shipment.
     
    5. If I live in the Los Angeles area or will be visiting the Los Angeles area, may I pick up my order at your location?
    Answer: You may pick up your order at our Los Angeles depository (Brinks Special Services, 550 S. Hill St., Suite #805, Los Angeles, CA 90013) provided you give us at least two business days' notice. You will be charged a $25 handling fee. We do not offer pick up (or delivery) services at our Santa Monica office.
     

  9. MISCELLANEOUS:
  10. 1. What products does A-Mark buy and sell?
    Answer: We offer a variety of products from worldwide government mints and international refineries. For a list of products we offer, please visit our PRODUCTS tab.
     
    2. May I place my order online?
    Answer: We currently do not offer this service. All orders can be placed by calling (310) 587-1436.
     
    3. May I cancel my order if I change my mind?
    Answer: If you change your mind about buying metal after you've given us a deposit, but before we lock in a price and confirm the trade, you may cancel your order, but a $50 handling fee will be charged. If you've already locked in a price, the transaction cannot be cancelled, but only offset at our then current bid price. Any deficit between the price at which we sold to you and the offsetting purchase price is your responsibility and is deducted from your deposit prior to our returning the deposit to you.
     
    4. If I am unsatisfied with my order, may I return the products for a full refund?
    Answer: You may not return the products to us for a full refund. However, you may sell the products to us at the then prevailing market price. It will be your responsibility to ship the products to us, and you will be charged a $25 receiving fee per package.
